Karen Warren
Karen Warren understands the growing and diverse constituency of Dublin South West.
Having admired the work of the then Fine Gael TD for Dublin South West, Brian Hayes, Karen first joined Fine Gael in 1998.
Karen lives in Bawnville, Tallaght and reared her three now grown-up children in the area, where they attended local schools.
Her own mother was from Ballycullen, so Karen has firm roots in the local community.
Years of involvement in local residents’ associations and parent groups led Karen to run for the Local Elections in 1999.
While she wasn’t elected on that occasion, she was successful on her second attempt in 2004 and served as Deputy Lord Mayor in 2005.
“This was one of the highlights of my political career,” Karen stated. “I worked hard to promote the county and took great satisfaction in being able to deliver additional recreational facilities for the children of Dublin South West.
“Throughout my adult life living in Dublin South West, I have always tried to play my part in improving the lives of the more vulnerable living among us. That remains a priority,” she continued.
“We have a number of young families living in inadequate accommodation in Tallaght in particular, and this is something I will be working on for the coming weeks.”
