Increase in VAT rate to 13.5% will have devastating effects on Longford Westmeath businesses – Bannon
26th September 2013 - James Bannon TD
Fine Gael Longford/Westmeath TD James Bannon, has said he believes that a hike in the VAT, from 9% to 13.5% will have negative effects on the economic recovery taking place across Ireland. The 9% VAT rate has created thousands of jobs, particularly within the tourism sector of the economy, which has been the most stable throughout the entirety of the recession.
