Hopkins welcomes funding approval for school works in Roscommon Town and Taughmaconnell
22nd September 2014 - Fine Gael Press Office
Fine Gael candidate in the Roscommon/South Leitrim bye-election, Cllr Maura Hopkins, has welcomed funding approval for works to be carried out at the Convent of Mercy, Roscommon Town and St Ronan’s National School in Taughmaconnell.
“I’m very pleased that funding has been approved for electrical works to be carried out at St Ronan’s National School and roof repairs to be undertaken at the Convent of Mercy Secondary School.
“The allocations for both schools have been sanctioned by the School Building Unit at the Department of Education.
“These monies will now enable the necessary works to proceed once the respective tendering processes have been completed.
“It is also important to note that projects such as these also help to stimulate economic activity by supporting construction jobs in the local economy.”
