Heydon congratulates constituency colleague Seán Ó’Fearghaíl on his election as Ceann Comhairle
10th March 2016 - Martin Heydon TD
Fine Gael TD for Kildare South, Martin Heydon, has today (Thursday), congratulated his constituency colleague Deputy Seán Ó’Fearghaíl on his election to the position of Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann.
“I wish to extend my congratulations to the new Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann, Deputy Seán Ó’Fearghaíl. This is a proud day for him and his family.
“The new Ceann Comhairle and I have always had a good working relationship as constituency colleagues in Kildare South. I have seen first-hand how he can leave party politics aside when dealing with important constituency issues and I know he will bring these qualities to his new role of Ceann Comhairle.
“I look forward to Deputy Ó’Fearghaíl overseeing further reform of Dáil Éireann to build on the work of the last Government in this area. There is an appetite for Dáil reform across the political divide at this important time of change.
“For my own part, I am honoured to have been re-elected to Dáil Éireann by the people of Kildare South and I will continue to work as hard as I can on their behalf in the 32nd Dáil.”
