Have your say on the Future of Childcare – Currie

Castleknock public meeting on Thursday 23rd June

20th June 2022 - Emer Currie

Fine Gael Senator Emer Currie is encouraging people to have their say on the future of childcare.

Senator Currie is hosting a public meeting in Castleknock Community Centre in Laurel Lodge on Thursday 23rd June at 7:30pm.

Senator Currie said, “Fine Gael is focused on building stronger, safer communities and quality, affordable childcare is hugely important to that. Fine Gael recently ran a Policy Lab to listen to the ideas of parents, providers and staff.

“I encourage everyone interested in the future of childcare, from parents to providers, to come along to this meeting on the 23rd of June and have your say. Fine Gael wants to hear from you as we reshape childcare for the future.

“This is the first of two public meetings taking place in Dublin West to inform and consult about Fine Gael’s work in the area of childcare reform. A second meeting is being held in Ongar Community Centre on Thursday 30th June at 7:30pm.

“Fine Gael is working to build local childcare services that best meet local needs. We want to deliver affordability and flexibility for parents. And we want to sustain quality in the sector, ensuring a better career path for childcare workers.

Senator Currie concluded, “My public meetings will elaborate on all of these proposals and it is open to anyone who wishes to attend, to listen and to contribute. Come along, have your say, and help to shape the future of childcare.”
