Four new primary care posts to address long waiting lists in Carlow/Kilkenny – Deering
22nd August 2013 - Pat Deering TD
Fine Gael TD for Carlow/Kilkenny, Pat Deering, has today (Thursday) welcomed the news that four new primary care posts are being allocated to the area in the form of two speech and language therapists, one occupational therapist and one physiotherapist.
“It is nearly two years since a report was published which highlighted that Carlow, Kilkenny and South Tipperary were the worst areas in the country in terms of availability of speech and language therapists, resulting in very long waiting times for patients to see these therapists.
“I am delighted that the HSE has revised its initial allocation of primary care workers to include these four new posts for Carlow/Kilkenny and South Tipperary.
“These posts are due to be in place by the end of the year and they will go a long way towards reducing the delays that patients have had to endure in order to receive much-needed treatment
