Fine Gael selects Grace Boland to contest Dublin Fingal West in General Election
26th August 2024 - Fine Gael Press Office
Grace Boland has been selected by Fine Gael to represent the party in the Dublin Fingal West constituency in the General Election.
Party members selected Grace Boland tonight (Monday) in a convention held in the Brackencourt Hotel, Balbriggan, which was chaired by Minister Neale Richmond.
Fine Gael have now chosen 31 General Election candidates in 19 constituencies.
Grace Boland said, I am incredibly honoured to have the confidence and support of the party members and to be Fine Gael’s candidate for the new constituency of Dublin Fingal West.
“As a native of Fingal, where I live and established my law firm, I deeply understand the challenges our community faces—from accessing stable housing and education to supporting seniors, local businesses, and farmers. My background as a lawyer, business owner, and community advocate has given me the insight and determination needed to address these issues effectively.
“I’ve had the privilege of serving as a director of Teen-Turn, a charity dedicated to empowering young girls from underserved areas to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and maths. Through this work, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of providing opportunities and support to our youth, ensuring they have the tools to succeed.
“My vision for Fingal West is rooted in promoting affordable and accessible childcare, improving public services, ensuring well-resourced health centres and schools, and supporting our local economy. I am committed to being a strong voice for the people of Fingal West in Dail Eireann and, delivering for our rapidly growing constituency.
“My dedication to public service is inspired by my father, the late John Boland, former Fine Gael TD and Cabinet Minister, whose legacy of reform and community development continues to shape my values and aspirations.
“His work in Fingal—establishing resources like Ardgillan Demesne, Skerries Red Island, Skerries Mills, Malahide Castle, Newbridge Demense and many playing fields and resources for the people of Fingal—has left a lasting impact, and I am committed to continuing this tradition of public service.”
