Feighan welcomes €200,000 funding for flood mitigation works in Four Roads
30th June 2014 - Daniel Rowan
Fine Gael Roscommon/South Leitrim TD, Frank Feighan, has warmly welcomed the OPW’s allocation of €202,677 to Roscommon County Council for flood mitigation works to be carried out in Four Roads in South Roscommon.
“Last September, I travelled with Brian Hayes, who was then the Minister of State with responsibility for the OPW, to meet a Four Roads delegation who highlighted the need for urgent funding to address flooding issues in the area.
“The community suffered a particularly horrendous time in 2009 when homes and the road were submerged in water due to a burst spring. This flooding caused untold damage and stress for many people.
“Following the announcement of this funding, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Brian Hayes for visiting Four Roads and listening and responding to the concerns of the local community.”
