Feighan congratulates Carrick-on-Shannon for making Failte Ireland’s Best Tourism Town award shortlist
9th September 2014 - Daniel Rowan
Fine Gael TD for Roscommon/South Leitrim, Frank Feighan, has congratulated Carrick-on-Shannon for being shortlisted for Fáilte Ireland’s Best Tourism Town award.
“Being shortlisted for such a prestigious award is recognition of the wonderful range of tourism products on offer in Carrick-on-Shannon.
“As Minister of State for Tourism & Sport Michael Ring pointed out, Fáilte Ireland’s Best Tourism Town award is all about recognising those Irish towns, villages and communities which are putting their weight behind tourism and working hard to make their town even more attractive for tourists.
“The towns shortlisted will be judged on how they have developed their local area in a number of key tourism areas such as local involvement in developing tourism, and the marketing and promotion of the town.
“Carrick-on-Shannon will be judged in the small towns category and I wish all involved the very best ahead of the awards announcement in November.”
