Environmental Impact Assessment important for local community –Flanagan

Laois Offaly TD Charlie Flanagan has welcomed the request by An Bord Pleanala for the submission of an Environmental Impact Statement by Eirgrid in respect of the proposed substation and overhead lines in Ratheniska.

“I formally requested that an environmental impact assessment be carried out in my submission to An Bord Pleanala on the project. I feel that is important that the community are provided with a study that will assess and quantify any potential impacts of this project. This is a welcome development and I expect that such an assessment will be submitted to An Bord Pleanala within the next 3 months”
