€225,000 upgrade for Balbriggan Train Station

“Balbriggan Train Station will receive a €225,000 upgrade”, according to Alan Farrell, Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal.
“The National Transport Authority has approved funding for improvements to Balbriggan Train Station, and to the area approaching the station on Railway Street.
“This funding will allow for the provision of;
– a widened footpath on approach to the station
– an upgrade of the bus stop and shelter
– a pedestrian walkway within the station
– a Taxi waiting area
– sheltered bike parking
– passenger information
“This is a great investment for Balbriggan. These improvements will ensure that public transport services in the area are more user friendly and will hopefully result in increased numbers using these services. In addition, it will improve the appearance of the station for visitors who travel to Balbriggan by bus or train.
This work will be completed by the end of next year and will go a long way to improving the appearance, safety and accessibility of public transport in Balbriggan.”
