€125,000 allocated to sporting organisations in Longford and Westmeath – Bannon

Fine Gael TD for Longford/Westmeath, James Bannon, has today (Thursday) welcomed the announcement by the Minister of State in the Department of Sport, Michael Ring TD, of €125,000 in funding for three sporting organisations in Longford and Westmeath.
“I am delighted that sporting organisations in Longford and Westmeath are to benefit from €125,000 in funding through a join initiative by the Department of Sport and the Irish Public Bodies (IPB). Longford Town Park will receive €58,000 for its multi-use games area; Bocce Court in Longford Town Park will receive €9,000; and Skatepark in Mullingar will receive €58,000.
“The aim of this initiative is to create and enhance sport and recreational facilities in each local authority area. The funding announced today will go a long way towards supporting these sporting organisations and I would like to thank Minister Ring for his support in making this funding a reality.”
