Doherty welcomes €15 million for Meath in revised allocations under the LEADER elements of the RDP
22nd May 2013 - Emma Hynes
Fine Gael TD for Meath East, Regina Doherty, has today (Wednesday) welcomed the announcement by the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan TD, that it has revised the allocation to the Local Development Company (LDC) in Meath under the LEADER elements of the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2007-2013. The €15 million allocated to Meath is part of a total pot of the remaining €70 million being released to LDCs around the country.
“I am delighted with Meath’s allocation of €15 million in financial resources under the LEADER element of the RDP. Meath has an outstanding record under the stewardship of Michael Ludlow, CEO of the Meath Partnership, in successfully applying ourselves to projects and I am confident that this good work will continue.
“This funding will go a long way towards providing the resources and support required to develop rural communities in Meath during these difficult times. Not only will this funding facilitate infrastructure in the community, but it provides crucial support for rural entrepreneurship and job creation.
“It is important that we continue the momentum in supporting rural communities in Meath under LEADER and I am committed to supporting the Meath Partnership in any way I can.”
