20th June 2013 - Simon Harris TD
Wicklow Fine Gael TD, Simon Harris this week welcomed the Student Council of the Newtownmountkennedy National School to Dail Eireann.
Deputy Harris provided the Student Council with a tour of Leinster House and had a conversation with them about the importance of young people getting involved in their community and the role they can play on a Student Council.
Speaking after the visit, Deputy Harris said, “I really enjoyed meeting such a fantastic group of young people who are taking an active part in representing there friends and classmates views in their school. The roll-out of Student Councils is an important part of ensuring the views of students are heard within their school community and these young primary school students are doing a great job at this. Their enthusiasm is infectious and it was great to hear from them about the projects they are involved.”
