Conlan calls on Community Groups in Monaghan to apply for €75,000 Community Development Fund – 17/04/13
17th April 2013 - Sean Conlan
Fine Gael TD for Cavan/Monaghan, Sean Conlan, has called on community groups and other organisations in Monaghan to apply for the Community Development Fund, details of which have been announced by Monaghan County Council.
The Community Development Fund aims to promote, enhance and develop community development and social inclusion work throughout the county, through supporting the work of community and voluntary groups and organisations, and is open to any community and voluntary groups in the county. Applications are only accepted from Community Groups or organisations in county Monaghan.
“I am delighted that Monaghan County Council has made available €75,000 for local community organisations to do useful work throughout the county. This is a significant endorsement for the work that is carried out by these groups. People from communities throughout the County devote their time on a voluntary basis to do excellent work.
“It is only right that their superb work should be backed up financially by the Council. In fact it represents an excellent investment and shows that the County Council recognises that local people know local issues best.
“The funding has been made available to all community groups and organisations in the county under three distinct measures.
Measure One: Community Infrastructure Supports (max of €4,000, subject to number of applications)
Measure Two: Community Development Supports (max €1,000, subject to number of applications)
Measure Three: Community Capital Supports (max €7,000, subject to number of applications)
“I encourage anyone who is interested in applying for the course to call into my constituency office on Main Street, Ballybay or to phone the office on 042-9755500. The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 3rd May.”
