Condolences on death of Dr Hugh Byrne – Fine Gael Leader, An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar TD

An Taoiseach and Leader of Fine Gael, Leo Varadkar, has expressed his condolences on the death of Dr Hugh Byrne.

“I am saddened to hear of the passing of former Fine Gael TD, Dr Hugh Byrne.

“Hugh represented the people of Dublin diligently during his 13 years as a Fine Gael TD.

“Elected to the Dáil in 1969, Hugh went on to serve under two separate Fine Gael Taoisigh, working closely with both Liam Cosgrave and Garret Fitzgerald during their time in Government.

“I extend my deepest sympathies to Hugh’s family during this difficult time.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.”
