Comiskey calls on owners of landbanks to assist farmers in fodder shortage

Fine Gael Sligo Leitrim Senator and Seanad Spokesperson on Agriculture Michael Comiskey has today (Tuesday) urged owners of large landbanks to permit contractors to harvest these land to provide much need silage to the farming community.
“Last week I welcomed the decision of the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Mr Simon Coveney TD to extend the Fodder Transport Scheme and double the funding made available under that scheme, thereby providing continued assistance to the farming community in this difficult period.
