Collins welcomes green light for Millstreet Astro Turf

Áine Collins TD, has today welcomed the news that a new Astro Turf pitch has got the go-ahead in Millstreet.
“This is great news for Millstreet. The pitch’s prominent location will mean that it’s easily accessible for the national and secondary schools, as well as all the various sporting organisations and individuals who will be want to use the Astro Turf.” said Collins.
“I’d really like to congratulate the Millstreet Community Council for their perseverance in getting this project to this stage. A lot of work went into securing both the land and the funding for the Astro Turf”.
“The Kerry Diocesan have provided some of their land, on a long term lease, to make this project possible. Different elements of the project have received funding from various sources such as IRD Duhallow, Airtricity and Cork County Council. I would like to thank all of them for their support which has been so important and is really appreciated.
“This will really be such a welcome facility for Millstreet and I look forward to seeing this project start very soon.”
