Bannon reminds farmers of extension to TAMS 1 deadline

Fine Gael TD for Longford Westmeath, James Bannon, has reminded local farmers of the extension to the TAMS1 deadline. Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, recently extended the closing date to the 14th September 2015, for work already started.
“Recently in my clinics I’ve noticed that some farmers are not aware of the extension to the TAMS1 deadline in cases where work has already started. I am reminding farmers in Longford and Westmeath that they have until the 14th of September, now that the deadline has been extended.
“The Government was aware that in certain cases where work had already started for the Safety Schemes, Dairy Equipment Scheme and Sheep Handling Scheme, farmers were experiencing severe difficulties meeting the original deadline of the 31 August. This new more flexible deadline will really help farmers in giving more time to complete the work, collect receipts and return papers to the Department.”
