Announcement of €12bn in agricultural sector a positive investment – Durkan
6th January 2014 - Sarah Meade
Fine Gael Kildare North TD, Bernard Durkan, has today (Thursday) welcomed this week’s announcement by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, of an investment of over €12 billion in agriculture sector between now and 2020.
“This investment represents a positive endorsement of the agri-food industry and recognition of that sector’s efforts in the country’s economic recovery.
“Minister Coveney is to be congratulated for achieving this result against a difficult, demanding and competing economic background and it is to be hoped that the food producing sector can fully avail of the likely opportunities in the years ahead.”
