Farrell congratulates Fingal towns on Tidy Town success in 2012
Fine Gael TD for Dublin North Alan Farrell has warmly congratulated the teams across Fingal for their tremendous success in this year’s Supervalu Tidy Towns competition.
“It is evident from the results of this year’s Tidy Town Awards that all towns across Fingal in North County Dublin have successfully run an excellent Tidy Towns campaign.
“I would like to extend warm congratulations in particular to Skerries on its remarkable success winning the Regional Award for Dublin, and also to Malahide on its Gold Medal Award win, Balbriggan on its Dublin Fingal Endeavour Award and to Lusk, winner of the Commended Award for Fingal.
“I would also like to congratulate John Flynn of Lusk, who has been named as one of this year’s heroes of the Tidy Town competition.
“These awards, along with the high points received overall across Fingal towns, reflect the hard work and commitment that volunteers selflessly undertake every year for the good of their community.
“The report praised each committee in Fingal individually for their work on presentation and maintenance of the community overall, as well as the work that has been put into the improvement and management of each area.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to acknowledge the dedication that each Tidy Town committee gives to our community, and I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to each volunteer in 2012.”
“I have no doubt that this success will be provide a boost for these winning committees, who can use these awards to capitalise on their hard work and success in time for the Tidy Towns competition in 2013”
