600 jobs at Paddy Power a vote of confidence in Irish economic strategy
6th October 2015 - Olivia Mitchell TD
Speaking ahead of the announcement of 600 high-end jobs at Paddy Power HQ in Clonskeagh, Fine Gael TD for Dublin South, Olivia Mitchell, said she was delighted that expanding, Irish-based companies are continuing to keep high-end jobs at home.
“It’s fantastic to see indigenous companies operating and expanding worldwide but still managing to keep high-end jobs at home. The 600 positions are based in highly-skilled areas such as e-commerce, technology and online marketing which are sectors that are ripe for further growth.
“This is great news for Dublin South, for graduates and for Ireland. It’s a vote of confidence in Ireland’s future and a boost for national self-confidence.
“On top of the Kerry Group announcement earlier this week, there are real grounds for optimism that Ireland’s strategy of moving to sustainable, high-skilled jobs is working.”
