100 jobs at FeedHenry a further boost to Waterford City –Coffey

2nd May 2013 - Senator Paudie Coffey

Fine Gael Waterford Deputy Paudie Coffey has said news that FeedHenry had announced an expansion of 100 jobs was a further boost to Waterford City and a number of these jobs will also be for their facility in Dublin. Deputy Coffey said this announcement had followed on from other significant announcements in recent weeks, all of which underpins the quality and employability of the labour force in Waterford.

“FeedHenry provides next generation, cloud-based mobile enterprise application solutions that simplify the development, deployment and management of mobile apps for enterprise. The FeedHenry platform offers IT departments the ability to create, control, measure, adapt and future-proof their mobile business strategies for employees, partners and customers in one place, increasing productivity, connectivity and engagement.

“Recruitment will begin immediately with positions in Waterford open for software engineers, project managers and business analysts and will bring employment levels in the company to 140 over the next 24 months. FeedHenry was originally a research and development project established in the Telecommunications Software and Systems Group (TSSG) in WIT and this should act as an encouragement to all businesses at this facility about how they can grow and expand their business in a difficult macro-economic environment.

“Over the last number of weeks we have seen almost 2,500 jobs announced in Waterford and The South East Region; we are without question the focus of external and internal investors at this moment in time. This is down to the quality of the workforce and what it can offer across the board in different sectors and for different employers.

“We in Waterford are all too aware of the impact of the economic downturn and what that has done to our City, but announcements like this should bring a renewed confidence. We can and will recover by hard graft and by continuing to put our shoulders to the wheel. No recovery will ever be smooth sailing but we are beginning to move in the right direction and we will get Waterford back to work.”
