“Dan Neville has represented the people of Limerick for the past 30 years, as a Councillor, Senator and TD. I have worked closely with Dan for many years and have witnessed first-hand his hard work and commitment to the people he represents in County Limerick.

“On a national level Dan has been a very effective voice in the area of suicide prevention and mental health awareness. In 1993, he led the way for the decriminalisation of suicide and was the cofounder of the Irish Association of Suicidology. Dan’s contributions were very important in the development of ‘Connecting for Life – Ireland’s suicide prevention strategy 2015-2020′.
“In 2014 Dan too
k on the role of party Chairman. He has carried out that role with the diligence and fairness all in the Fine Gael party have come to associate with him.

“I would like to once again pay tribute to Dan on all of his great work over the past three decades and wish him the very best for the future. I have no doubt that he will remain an active and valuable public figure.”
