1st April 2015 - Aoife Carragher

“Prometric, who have brought jobs and investment to Dundalk for over ten years, are to invest more than €3.5 million to expand its operation in Dundalk, creating 40 new high skilled jobs”, says Peter Fitzpatrick, Fine Gael TD for Louth.

“Prometric are to invest over €3.5 million in its presence in County Louth for joint announcements covering a three-year research partnership with DCU. This is very good news for the people of Dundalk who can apply for these positions, and also for local businesses who benefit from increased employment and local spending.

“In Dundalk, Prometric’s 40 new jobs will diversify and expand its operation, adding finance and customer service functions to its test development, technology, operations and human resources teams. The expansion includes €550,000 in capital expenditure and €2 million in workforce investment. When all hiring is complete, the company expects to have 147 employees in the Dundalk based Global Operations Centre.

“This announcement is a great boost for the North East and a further example of the potential of the Dundalk area. Prometric’s huge investment in Dundalk is testament to the skills on offer in the area, the excellent infrastructure links available and the satisfaction the company has with its current employees.

“The Government has set an ambitious target of creating 40,000 jobs in 2015 and of reaching full employment by 2018, two years ahead of schedule. Today’s announcement makes a significant contribution to reaching this target.

“The Regional Enterprise strategy which has been rolled out by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, outlines the Government’s focus on providing jobs and opportunities in all regions of the country. I am particularly pleased to see that Dundalk and County Louth is attracting quality companies who are expanding and flourishing in this area.”
