Micheál Martin; the “Man with No Plan”; wants to be Taoiseach– O’Donovan

Deluded Fianna Fáil leader thinks the people have forgiven his party for wrecking the economy
Fine Gael Limerick County TD Patrick O’Donovan, has today (Tuesday), said that Micheál Martin is deluded if he believes that the people have forgiven Fianna Fail. His comments come after the Fianna Fáil leader ruled out any coalition with Fine Gael or Sinn Féin in media interviews today.
He said: “Does Micheál Martin seriously believe that Fianna Fáil has been forgiven by the Irish people for leading us into the bailout and ruining the country’s economy? Does he really think that Fianna Fáil can lead the next Government – and will win an overall majority? The same Deputy Martin also said that he’s ‘preparing to be Taoiseach’, because ‘that’s his obligation’. This is the same party with no policies, no plan, and no vision for the future.
“This kind of arrogance shouldn’t come as a surprise from a man who spent 14 years as a Cabinet Minister in the Governments of Bertie Ahern and Brian Cowen, which spent recklessly and led the country and economy into ruin. This self-proclaimed Taoiseach stands on a track record of introducing the dysfunctional HSE and wasting €220 million on the never-used PPARS system when he was Minister for Health. He also helped drive the property bubble to the exclusion of all else when he was Minister for Enterprise. Is this really the kind of Taoiseach the people want?
“Micheál Martin seems to believe that the Irish people are ready to welcome back the old gang – the likes of himself and Mary Hanafin. This is the same gang that led us into the Troika Bailout, so people shouldn’t be fooled by this ‘Fianna Fáil Nua’ – they’re exactly the same as the old Fianna Fail. Their leader has made a career out of failing to take difficult decisions, telling people what they want to hear, and then doing whatever it takes to stay in power.
“The Irish people should be very careful what they believe from the party with no policies, no plan and no shame. Fianna Fáil is part of the problem, not the solution. Given the chance, they’d wreck the country again.”
