Conway welcomes State Art Exhibition to Ennistymon

28th November 2014 - Aoife Carragher

Fine Gael Senator for Clare, Martin Conway, has today (Friday) welcomed an exhibition of contemporary art of the Office of Public Works and the Department of Finance and Personnel, Northern Ireland to the Courthouse Gallery in Ennistymon.

The exhibition titled ‘UNFOLD’ will be officially opened today by Minister of State Simon Harris, TD and continues until 8th January 2015.

“I am delighted that a selection of 30 artworks from the public collections, north and south, chosen by nine young curators from the Institute of Technology in Tallaght will be exhibited at the gallery and it is the first time since 1997, that the OPW has invited curatorial input from the public.

“The ‘UNFOLD’ exhibition was in RUA RED Gallery in August. It then toured to the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre in Newry in September; Stormont Parliament Buildings, Belfast in October and here in Ennistymon in December and January.

“I am very impressed with the quality of art works on display and I have no doubt that it will be a very enlightening event for the community.”
