€4m Endoscopy Unit at Roscommon Hospital to formally go to tender – Feighan
30th January 2014 - Daniel Rowan
Fine Gael TD for Roscommon/South Leitrim, Frank Feighan, has welcomed the news that the construction project to build the €4 million Endoscopy Unit at Roscommon County Hospital (RCH) is set to formally go out to tender.
“Tenders will now go out to a number of builders who have been selected from the pre-qualifying stage. The preferred contractor to build this major facility will then be appointed from this group following the tender process.
“I am delighted that this important project has reached this stage and I look forward to the completion of this 14,000 square foot unit which is set to become a diagnostic centre for the western region.
“This Endoscopy Unit at RCH will facilitate a range of scope procedures for patients, including colonoscopies. It is also hoped the service will be widened to offer bronchoscopy, cystoscopy and a range of other scope services.”
