Taoiseach to attend North South Ministerial Meeting in Armagh

The Taoiseach, Mr Enda Kenny TD, will today, Friday, attend the seventeenth plenary meeting of the North South Ministerial Council (NSMC) in the NSMC Headquarters in Armagh.
The Taoiseach will lead members of the Cabinet who will meet collectively with the Northern Ireland Executive. First Minister Peter Robinson and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness will host the meeting.
Prior to the meeting the Taoiseach will address a Joint Sports & Reconciliation Conference at Market Place Theatre along with the First Minister, deputy First Minister and the Tánaiste.
Following the Council meeting the Taoiseach will meet with the CEO’s of the North South Bodies.
Speaking in advance of his visit to Northern Ireland the Taoiseach said:
“I look forward to engagement on Friday with members of the Northern Ireland Executive at the North South Ministerial Council where we will have a detailed and open discussion on financial and economic matters, including measures for tackling youth unemployment.
I see the Joint Sport and Reconciliation conference as an excellent opportunity to showcase the positive benefit of sport. I also look forward to meeting with the CEO’s of the North South Bodies to discuss the important ongoing work of these Bodies.”
