No change to 2014 pay and file deadlines good for Carlow businesses – Deering
21st November 2013 - Emma Hynes
Fine Gael TD for Carlow/Kilkenny, Pat Deering, has today (Thursday) described the decision by the Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan TD, not to change the pay and file deadline for 2014 as good news for Carlow businesses as they will have time to properly prepare for the changes to the pay and file of tax returns which will be in place from 2015 onwards.
“Many businesses in Carlow have raised concerns about having to pay and file their tax returns earlier than usual next year, saying that to do so would be very disruptive to the business. I am pleased that Minister Noonan has announced that the change to the pay and file deadline will come into effect from 2015 onwards.
“Carlow businesses are starting to get back on their feet after a difficult few years when the country was in recession. By allowing businesses the extra time to prepare for the change to the pay and file deadline, businesses will be in a much better position in which to manage their cash flow and submit their tax returns at the earlier deadline in 2015.
“I would like to commend Minister Noonan for his foresight in ensuring that small businesses can continue to recover and grow and be fully prepared for the new deadline in 2015.”
