Minister Varadkar thanks Unions and Management at Dublin Bus.
8th August 2013 - Leo Varadkar, TD
Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport, Leo Varadkar, and Minister of State, Alan Kelly, have thanked unions and management at Dublin Bus for their efforts through the night in reaching a proposed agreement in the dispute that had taken place since Sunday.
While the inconvenience to passengers was regrettable, management and unions have delivered buses back onto the streets of Dublin and have set out measures to achieve cost savings essential for the future of the company.
Both ministers praised the endeavours of the Labour Court and the Labour Relations Commission in working with the parties to bring about a resolution that will be balloted upon by union members at Dublin Bus. Bus transport is essential to the workforce, tourists and the people of Dublin and both ministers welcome the progress that is being achieved by all at Dublin Bus despite the difficult change process.
