Kildare company to create 51 new jobs having further positive impact on job creation – Durkan
23rd September 2013 - Deborah Sweeney
Fine Gael Kildare North Deputy, Bernard Durkan TD, has today (Monday) welcomed the announcement by local food company, O’Brien Fine Foods, of the creation of 51 jobs over the next three years in Timahoe, County Kildare. This is part of a €3 million investment plan by Enterprise Ireland which is supported by the Department of Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation.
“The creation of an additional 51 jobs for Kildare is great news and will bring with it opportunities for local employment as well as for the local domestic economy which will benefit from this level of investment. This is another example of the ability of the small to medium sized enterprises to make a positive impact on the economic situation with resultant improvement in employment in rural as well as urban areas.
“The announcement is also a positive reflection on the skills of management and the workforce in county Kildare. The Irish food industry is renowned worldwide and the continued growth of the sector is testament to the quality of what we are producing.
“While will still have a way to go, we are now at the stage where we are creating 3,000 additional private sector jobs a month, while at the same time getting our public finances back in order and ensuring value for money is achieved for the taxpayer.
“I am delighted that O’Brien Fine Foods, which specialises in premium cooked meat products is in a position to grow its business to this extent and I look forward to the positive impact this will have not only on Kildare but on jobs figures nationally.”
