Funding of €200,000 makes plans for Blessington day care centre a reality – Harris
5th December 2013 - Emma Hynes
Fine Gael TD for Wicklow, Simon Harris, has today (Thursday) welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Health, James Reilly TD, that €200,000 in funding from the National Lottery Discretionary Fund has been granted to Blessington day care centre. Deputy Harris has been working closely with members of the Blessington community over the last number of months as the group prepared to submit its application.
“I am delighted that the commitment and dedication of the Blessington community to build this new day care centre has now paid off. This community group has worked incredibly hard over a long period of time to draw up plans and secure the necessary funding to make this project a reality for the people of Blessington and the wider west Wicklow region.
“While a substantial sum of money had already been secured, the project needed a further investment to reach the required amount in order to begin construction. I am delighted that this funding will now ensure that this important project procedes. I will continue to work closely with the group and wider community as the day care centre is constructed and the centre is open for business.
“It has been a pleasure to work with the people involved in this project and their determination and commitment is second to none.”
