Feighan welcomes €22.5m allocation of LEADER funding to Roscommon and Leitrim

Fine Gael TD for Roscommon/South Leitrim, Frank Feighan, has welcomed the total allocation of €22.5 million in LEADER funding to Roscommon and Leitrim. The €22.5 million is part of a total pot of the remaining €70 million being released to Local Development Companies (LDCs) around the country.
“As part of the revised allocations under the LEADER elements of the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2007-2013, Roscommon Integrated Development Company receives €11,230,957, while Leitrim Integrated Development Company is allocated €10,257,659.
“This significant funding is great news for both Roscommon and Leitrim Integrated Development Companies which will now allocate monies to important local projects.
“This funding has the capacity not only to facilitate access to sustainable employment opportunities in rural areas but to also enhance local economies for business creation and development into the future.
“I am delighted that the release of this funding will now activate important community projects and ventures which will undoubtedly improve the quality of life in rural areas.”
