Feighan welcomes €200,000 in LEADER funding to support Strokestown biomass processing business

Fine Gael Roscommon/South Leitrim TD, Frank Feighan, has welcomed the allocation by Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan TD, of €200,000 in LEADER funding to support a biomass processing business in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon.

“I am delighted that Minister Hogan has sanctioned Roscommon Integrated Development Company to approve funding of €200,000 to Mark Hanly for the purchase of a mobile biomass processor/shedder for his business in Strokestown.

“As Minister Hogan has noted, this new technology, the first mobile service of its kind in the Republic of Ireland, has the potential to revolutionise the way biomass crops can be harvested.

“With the help of LEADER funding, I am delighted that innovative businesses such as this one are being developed locally. This of course can only mean good news for local economies.”
