Permanent location for Stepaside Educate Together in Belarmine welcomed – Mitchell
1st October 2015 - Olivia Mitchell TD
Olivia Mitchell, Fine Gael TD for Dublin South, has welcomed the announcement by the Department of Education and Skills to build a new school building in Belarmine for Stepaside Educate Together National School.
“The announcement that Stepaside Educate Together is to be permanently located in Belarmine next to Gaelscoil Taobh na Coille is great news for the school’s students and staff who for the past four years have been located in two temporary sites in the constituency.
“Last week I raised the absence of a permanent site for Stepaside Educate Together in the Dáil and I was delighted that the Minister confirmed to me then that a site had been acquired and that the permanent location would be announced as soon as possible.
“While the announcement of the permanent location is great news I would urge the Department to move quickly to lodge a planning application with Dun Loaghaire-Rathdown County Council so that the building project can start as quickly as possible.
“I am confident that planning permission once lodged will be granted for this school given the local support for new schools in the constituency”.
