Deputy Sean Conlan has applauded the launch by Mr Phil Hogan TD, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, of a new initiative to be headed up by Pat Spillane, who has been appointed Chairman of the new Commission for the Economic Development of Rural Areas. This Commission is aimed at developing a sustainable jobs strategy for rural Ireland, with the creation of employment “outside the farm gate” being it’s chief function.
