Jobs announcement an endorsement of fantastic business facility in Sandyford

27th September 2011 - Peter Mathews

Fine Gael Dublin South TD, Peter Mathews, has today (Tuesday) welcomed the announcement of 75 new jobs to be created in Sandyford. Dun & Bradstreet, a company providing commercial information and insight on business, will expand its current Irish workforce by 50 per cent to create the new vacancies €“ having only set up in Ireland just over a year ago.

“I am delighted that Dun & Bradstreet has chosen to expand its operation in Sandyford. It is a fitting endorsement of the top class business facility that we have in Sandyford as well as a significant economic boost for the area.

“As the Taoiseach, who met with D&B chief executive Sara Mathew earlier today said, the company’s decision to create new vacancies is a strong endorsement of Ireland’s reputation as a leading location for the international business information products and services sector.

“This news comes on foot of other such jobs announcements this week such as that of Bio Ware in Galway and PWC, not to mention the landmark news of Twitter’s decision to set up an international office in Dublin. I take massive encouragement from the willingness of international companies to invest in Ireland.

“Despite the negative publicity our country has received in recent years internationally, it is clear that these companies recognise and value what Ireland has to offer. Furthermore, these announcements are a vindication of the Government’s firm stance on corporation tax in the face of significant pressure.

“The IDA is to be congratulated for its great work in helping to bring these jobs to Sandyford. I look forward to more such companies choosing to locate in the area.”
