Parliamentary Question addressed to the Minister for Education and Skills
4th December 2013 - Olivia Mitchell TD
To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if a school (Educate Together Ballinteer) in Dublin 16 will be accepting two junior infant classes in September 2014, as confirmation of places have only gone out to parents in the first stream, a fact that is causing concern to those on the waiting list; and if he will make a statement on the matter?
Reply:
Officials in my Department are aware of the situation at the school to which the Deputy refers in Dublin 16 and will be meeting with school authorities shortly to discuss same. However, my Department’s main responsibility is to ensure that schools in an area can, between them, cater for all pupils seeking school places in the area.
