Dublin South features prominently in 5-year School Building Programme
2nd March 2012 - Olivia Mitchell TD
Fine Gael TD for Dublin South Olivia Mitchell has welcomed today’s confirmation that several Dublin South schools feature on the Department of Education’s five-year school building programme.
“Dublin South has rightly been identified by the Department as a priority area for school building projects.
“The number of Dublin South schools appearing on today’s list reflects the huge population growth we have experienced in our area over the last number of years.
“Nationally, an increase of 45,050 primary pupils and 25,000 post-primary pupils is forecast by 2017.
“Today’s announcement, which sets out a clear timeline for school building projects, is another step to ensuring that the increased demand for local school places is met in time.”
