Visit Heritage Sites f or Free Next Wednesday
29th July 2011 - Senator Anthony Lawlor
“In July Junior Minister for Finance, Brian Hayes, announced a new scheme which opens all OPW Heritage sites free to the public on the first Wednesday of every month. With the Bank Holiday weekend kicking off holidays for many people, I recommend this scheme to be utilised next Wednesday. This is a fantastic scheme which will showcase the best that Ireland has to offer to both domestic and international tourists” said Kildare North TD, Anthony Lawlor.
The majestic Castletown House in Celbridge is one of the sites included on this scheme, with others including major attractions such as Newgrange in Co. Meath and the Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary. This free access will be available until end of 2011 when the scheme will be up for review.
“During this holiday month of August, I recommend individuals and families alike to avail of this free access to Castletown and other Heritage sites throughout the country. Further information can be found on www.heritageireland.ie” concluded Anthony Lawlor
