Funding to Upgrade Kilcock Train Station

“I was delighted to be informed by the Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar TD, that Kilcock train station is in line for an upgrade to the value of €34,000. This funding forms part of the Jobs Initiative with €1 million being was allocated nationwide to provide for the upgrade of train stations in order to make them more attractive and comfortable for commuters and tourists” announced Kildare North TD, Anthony Lawlor.
The works to be undertaken include Iarnrod Éireann signage, directional signage, an external painting scheme and platform furniture consisting of seats, three litter bins and one full depth shelter. The assessment on the allocation of funding nationwide was carried out by the National Transport Authority.
“This upgrade will greatly improve the service provided at the very busy Kilcock train station and should enhance the travel experience of all who use the station” concluded Anthony Lawlor TD.
