NRA allocates funding to reduce traffic congestion in Dublin Fingal

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal has said that funding of over €5.5 million from the National Road Authority to projects in Fingal will reduce traffic congestion and increase safety for drivers in Dublin Fingal.

“The National Roads Authority have allocated €5 million toward the widening of the of the road between Drynam and Lissenhall.

“This project will reduce traffic congestion, particularly at peak hours, meaning reduced commuter times between this part of Swords and the city centre. Facilities for cyclists and pedestrians will also be improved.

“A further €600,000 has been allocated toward various projects, including a design phase for further schemes, and maintenance projects that will ensure the safety of our roads.

“This allocation will greatly improve driving conditions in Swords/Malahide by increasing capacity for the growing number of commuters that travel on this road to and from work each day. I commend Fingal County Council and the National Roads Authority for ensuring that this funding is ring fenced and for identifying projects such as this that will go a long way to developing road infrastructure in Dublin Fingal.
