€40,000 grant for children’s hospice very welcome
20th December 2011 - Peter Mathews
Fine Gael TD for Dublin South, Peter Mathews, has today warmly welcomed the provision of a €40,000 National Lottery grant from the Department of Health towards the cost of a specially adapted bus for transporting sick children at the Laura Lynn Sunshine Home on Leopardstown Road.
“Laura Lynn House is one of the most deserving facilities that I have had the pleasure to visit. With its hallmark of excellence and wonderful atmosphere for the children that it looks after, it couldn’t be a more deserving cause.
“Having personally visited this hospice, I was completely bowled over by what a wonderful facility it offers to children and their families during such a tragic time in their lives. I spoke directly with the Minister for Health, James Reilly, to bring this to his attention.
“Despite all the financial challenges that the Minister has, his heart and his mind are in the right place for such a deserving cause.”
