400 Naas jobs a further sign that the Action Plan for Jobs is working for Kildare- Durkan
9th June 2016 - Bernard Durkan TD
Fine Gael TD for Kildare North, Bernard Durkan has said that the announcement by Applegreen of 400 new jobs for Naas is a sign that the Action Plan for Jobs is working for Kildare.
“I am delighted that planning permission has been granted to Applegreen for a major new development at the old Cemex site in Naas. The research and training facility they are building will create 400 jobs which is a really great boost for a town like Naas.
“This is further evidence that the Action Plan for Jobs is working for Co. Kildare. In fact, recent CSO figures showed a drop of 26% in Kildare’s Live Register since the launch of the Action Plan for Jobs in early 2012.
“This is a strong sign that Fine Gael is continuing to deliver on its pledge to prioritise job creation and reduce unemployment. The Action Plan for Jobs has delivered great success in creating the environment to get people in Kildare back to work and we must ensure this continues.
“Fine Gael in Government continues to prioritise job creation because we believe that only a strong economy, supporting people at work, can pay for the services needed to create a fair society here in Kildare and around the country.”
