100 new jobs in Park West – Byrne
10th December 2014 - Fine Gael Press Office
Fine Gael Dublin South Central TD, Catherine Byrne, has welcomed the creation of 100 new jobs in Park West by Allianz Worldwide Care.
“The announcement by Allianz Worldwide Care of 100 new jobs at their Park West base is great news for the surrounding areas of Cherry Orchard, Clondalkin, Ballyfermot and Ballymount.
“Allianz has been a great employer in Park West with a staff of 700 already working there. They created 74 new jobs already this year and the announcement now of 100 extra jobs is very welcome.
“Job creation always has a positive knock on effect for the local community with local businesses benefitting from the newly employed people in the area having more money in their pockets.
“Furthermore, these are not casual jobs. The new staff employed at Allianz at Park West will benefit from training and development to further their careers.
“The Government’s Action Plan for Jobs is working, with 80,000 new jobs created since its launch in February 2012. Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton has confirmed that 18,000 new jobs have been created in our area over the last three years. This is not just a meaningless statistic. Jobs mean dignity and self-respect for people. Local jobs mean more money circulating in the local community helping our small businesses to grow. Jobs mean less and less young people having to leave this country to find employment elsewhere. Dublin is back on its feet and our young people and their families are starting to see the benefits.”
