100 new jobs a further boost for Sligo – McLoughlin

18th May 2016 - Tony McLoughlin TD

Fine Gael TD for Sligo-Leitrim, Tony Mc Loughlin, says the news that LotusWorks is to create 100 new jobs at its Sligo headquarters over the coming year is a major boost for the county.

“The technical and engineering company, which already employs 470 people, will create 50 new jobs over the next six months – with another 50 to come on stream by the end of 2017.

“I am delighted to see this local business going from strength to strength and today’s announcement is a further boost to Sligo and its local economy.

“The announcement by LotusWorks is a strong endorsement of the skilled workforce, facilities and services available in the Sligo area and proof that our town can continue to attract investment and jobs.

“It is also proof that the Government’s Regional Jobs Plan is working and investment is coming to the regions. Sligo is now entering a new stage of development, and this is evident as we see new business opening and jobs being created.

“On the back of this positive announcement, I eagerly look forward to the completion of the new IDA advanced facility in Finisklin, which will attract many more jobs to our town, and other investments in our county”.
