10 Louth organisations to receive €80,000 in Lotto funding – Fitzpatrick
5th December 2013 - Emma Hynes
Fine Gael TD for Louth, Peter Fitzpatrick, has today (Thursday) welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Health, James Reilly TD, that €80,000 in Lotto funding is being given to ten sporting and health organisations in Louth.
“I am pleased with today’s announcement of €80,000 in funding for ten sporting and health organisations in Louth. The National Lottery Discretionary Fund provides once-off grants to organisations, providing a range of health-related services.
“Organisations which will benefit include Down Syndrome Ireland – Louth/Meath; Good Morning Louth; Ardee Sports Project; Faughart Social Group; Turas Counselling Services; the Ferrard Day Centre; North Louth Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland; Cooley & District Community Alert; Drogheda Community Services Trust; and Le Chéile. This funding will go a long way towards helping these groups to provide much needed supports to the people of Louth.
“I would like to commend Minister Reilly for his support. In these challenging economic times, voluntary organisations find themselves having to do more with less, and all support they receive is very much appreciated.”
